Forum Posting Policy
How does the forum benefit me?
There are 2 main benefits to the forum:
1st Meaningful practice: when you write something down, you are forcing yourself to use English in an expressive and thoughtful way.
Writing in English is one of the BEST ways to improve your fluency and activate what we cover in the modules.
2nd Didactic: not only do you practise new vocabulary and expressions, this is the point where I challenge you. You will get relevant guidance and feedback from me and our teachers. I’ll give you honest feedback, corrections and suggestions on improvements you can make in order to make your English sound more natural and more like a native speaker.
Furthermore, you can learn a lot by reading previous discussion threads from other students and comments from teachers.
How to get the most out of the forum
Participate & be pro-active!
If you don’t participate you’ll be losing out on English practice and making friends.
The easiest way you can participate is by following the prompts in the courses.
To get the most out of the experience, you can:
- Engage in discussion threads – respond to comments and ask questions
- Share your personal stories, experiences and opinions
- Engage, encourage and support other students in the course
Forum Rules
All users posting to our forums must adhere to this Forum Posting Policy to help ensure that the our Forums remain an enjoyable environment for everyone. Violating these rules may result in your removal from the forums as well as other English Digital Academy services.
1. Treat others as you want to be treated
Misunderstandings can happen and often can be language related or due to the difficulty in understanding the implied tone in another user’s remarks. In fact, quite often something you may interpret as being harshly worded or rude may just be someone else’s form of offering you support. Take extra care to be kind in your comments to other users and never react negatively to comments you perceive as rude or otherwise objectionable. Instead, it’s always wiser to either end the discussion, ignore the comment entirely, or in more severe cases report the offence to support: info@hub.englishdigitalacademy.com
2. Zero Tolerance Policy
Immediate suspensions from the forum can result from any of the following: the posting of pornography; remarks which are sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive; or vulgar which discuss or illustrate illegal activity; provide links to sites that contain any of the aforementioned.
3. No abusive behaviour will be tolerated
Please remember to be courteous when disagreeing with others. We encourage the sharing and expressing of ideas and opinions. It is a fundamental part of our learning methodology. Disagreements or conflict may arise in the course of a discussion. Debate on differing opinions is appropriate and encouraged. Personal attacks against other users, however, are not allowed.
4. Do not post personal information or private communications
Please respect the privacy of others. Do not give out or re-post personal information such as names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, etc. Publicising any private correspondence is not permitted without prior permission.
