Two points:
1. I spent tenner on drinks > I spent A tenner on drinks
2. Adjectives like knackered and gutted are what we call âAbsolute Adjectivesâ. This means that is generally not capable of being intensified or compared. Therefore we donât use âveryâ with these kinds of adjective.
